Thirty athletes are the first in the world to cross the Teriberka Bay

On August 13, the International Swimming Arctic Swimming Pool will be held in the village of Teriberka. 30 athletes from different cities and countries will gather to cross the Gulf of Teriber for the first time.

Arctic Swim – the fourth and final stage of the series of annual International mass open water competitions X-WATERS. In 2017, swimmers took place in the Crimea, on Lake Seliger, on the Volga in Nizhny Novgorod and on Lake Baikal.

Over 2000 Russian and foreign athletes became participants in the largest open water events in Russia. Swimming Arctic Swim will close the summer season and unite the group of the most dangerous and brave swimmers in the first race in the world to cross the Gulf of Teriber.

Participants must swim at a distance of one mile or half a mile to choose from. The distance to the beach in the village of Lodeinoe to the site in Teriberka, short – a loop in the Teriberka area. Conditions will be extreme: water temperature 6-8 ° C and alternating tidal current. Athletes will perform in the categories “walruses” and “swimmers in wetsuits”.
