Agricultural production cooperative “TUNDRA” is the oldest reindeer enterprise of the Murmansk region which was created in 1930. It is one of the first reindeer enterprises of the USSR and one of the largest Russian reindeer enterprises. Currently, about 200 persons (depending on temporary contracts) work in the “Tundra”.
It is very important that the company is the city-forming to the village of Lovozero in which the principal amount of indigenous people of the Murmansk region Sámi live.
It is ineresting to know that this company became the winner of All-Russian contest “Russian star quality.” Cooperative “Tundra” is famous for its production not only in the region but also beyond. High-quality venison will please many fans of cooking. Currently, work is being done on the modernization of the processing plant and jerky sausage and reindeer meat will be ready for sale very soon.
