Tonight, the Russians will be able to observe the most unpredictable starfall (the Draconid meteor shower).
He received such a name, as he approaches the Earth from the constellation of the Dragon. These are small particles that broke away from comet Jacobini Zinner, discovered more than a hundred years ago. This year it has passed as close as possible to our planet.
Usually it gives a maximum of 5-15 meteors per hour, but three times in the twentieth century, a torrent of great meteors rained down on Earth. Today it is expected from 10 meteors per hour. Draconids are slow meteors of yellow and even reddish color. In this they differ from Perseids and many other counter flows.
Starfall peak – the night of October 8-9. You can start looking for “draconians” in the sky from 21:00, but the chances of seeing beauty increase dramatically after midnight. Experts call the best time interval between 4 and 5 o’clock in the morning.
